DSCSA: Elevate Compliance, Data Capture & Reporting

DSCSA REQUIREMENTS ARE NOW IN EFFECT

To meet these requirements, the industry has adopted Global Location Numbers (GLNs) as the standard for reporting location data –  layering in GLN capture with State License Number (SLN) review as part of their comprehensive Authorized Trading Partner (ATP) validation process. Building and implementing  data governance strategies adopt for linking and validating GLNs and SLNs is essential to remain complaint.

Without proper preparation, your organization may face:

  • Disruption in your supply-chain management
  • Major supply chain players increasingly require both SLN and GLN data within EPCIS messages
  • Manual review and linking data
  • Leading to potential shipping delays and non-compliance due to outdated or error prone SLN-GLN data
  • Limitations with existing healthcare data vendors who may not be equipped to validate SLN-GLN data
  • Inability – or significant delays –  in compliantly shipping products to patients in need

CUSTOMER SUCCESS STORY

MedPro Empowered One of the Nation’s Largest Wholesale Distributors to Ensure Compliance Ahead of DSCSA Deadline

MedPro Systems’ industry-first SLN-GLN crosswalk, combined with premier customer support and call center, has enabled this major distributor to efficiently ship products to their customer-base without interruption, all while preparing for the upcoming DSCSA deadline.

With requirements from DSCSA tightening, this organization needed to capture GLN information from their customers. Many of those customers were unaware of the new requirements, and collecting GLNs manually was proving inefficient and resource-intensive and sometimes with unsuccessful results.

MedPro Systems implemented a multi-pronged approach. Customer files were automatically processed in BulkID, where MedPro’s SLN-GLNs crosswalk appended known GLNs. For records missing GLN data, MedPro developed a streamlined, automated process that educates customers on the requirements and captures GLN data directly.

When needed, MedPro’s Information Verification Call Center follows up with targeted calls to their customers to secure the remaining data.

With MedPro’s comprehensive and adaptable process, and world-class HCP data, this leading distributor was able to reduce their most challenging records by 70%, avoiding product shipment delays and protected revenue.

MedPro raised awareness among their customers who were unfamiliar with this new regulation and ensured future GLN compliance. This MedPro customer now has the data and processes in place to continue shipping products compliantly and efficiently ahead of the DSCSA deadline.
