It covers capture of reportable interactions, categorization under CMS reporting rules, consolidation of federal and state obligations and annual submission.

Global Transparency Reporting

The management and submission of disclosure data across international jurisdictions, each with its own regulations, industry codes, thresholds, recipient definitions, currency rules and timelines, including whether disclosures are public.

Spend Capture

Identifying and recording financial interactions and transfers of value at the source, so reporting is complete, accurate and defensible in every applicable jurisdiction.

Spend Classification

Categorizing transfers of value according to each jurisdiction’s reporting framework so disclosures align with regulatory requirements.

Covered Recipient

An HCP or HCO whose payments and transfers of value manufacturers must report under Federal Open Payments (Sunshine Act). Covered recipients include physicians and teaching hospitals. The SUPPORT Act expanded the definition, starting with data collected in 2021, to include physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified nurse midwives.

HCP Engagement Management

The planning, approval, execution and documentation of fee-for-service engagements with HCPs, such as advisory boards, speaker programs and consulting, so each engagement is justified, compliant and reportable.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Look for data sourced directly from authoritative federal, state and industry sources, license verification with continuous monitoring, configurable business rules and integrations with your CRM, MDM and T&E systems.

They centralize validated HCP and HCO data, automate license and sanctions monitoring and support accurate transparency reporting, so eligibility issues surface before a sample, payment or shipment goes out.

Through APIs, batch file delivery and pre-built connectors that sync validated licensing, profile and reporting data into CRM, MDM, T&E and other operational systems.

Records are acquired directly from state licensing boards, federal agencies and industry registries, then cross-referenced across identifiers such as SLN, NPI and CDS and monitored for ongoing changes.

HCP identification relies on regulated identifiers such as state license numbers and NPIs, cross-referenced with other registry identifiers to confirm a single, accurate profile.

Verify licenses against primary sources: the state boards that issue them. Board websites work for occasional lookups, but verification at scale needs automated primary-source validation across all states, continuous monitoring, historical tracking and integration with your systems.

Reliability depends on where the data comes from, how often it is updated and how it reaches your systems. MedPro acquires license data directly from state licensing boards on an ongoing basis, covering 35M+ HCP and HCO records with 25+ years of history.

U.S. aggregate spend covers transfers of value reported under Federal Open Payments (Sunshine Act) and state and local laws. Global transparency reporting covers international jurisdictions, each with its own thresholds, timelines, recipient definitions and disclosure rules.

Validated recipient data (legal name, address, NPI, state license number and status, specialty), complete transaction data (payment nature, amount, date and associated product) and jurisdiction-specific attributes such as covered recipient type and teaching hospital status.

Penalties include civil monetary penalties, corrective action plans, increased regulatory scrutiny and reputational damage. Inaccurate or incomplete submissions can also trigger audits.
